Sophisticated Dining For Your Pet

Veterinarians recommend that your pooches eat in the upright position which helps alleviate Gastric Dilation Volvulus (GDV) or bloating (and hopefully prevents your dog from flatulence!).  Now if only that could be true for pet owners!  WETNOZ offers some sleek, luxurious modern pet accessories for your good ol’ pals.  And it will look good in your place too!

Got Wood?

SCRAPILE does!  Designers Bart Bettencourt and Carlos Salgado have the right concept in mind - Discarded / Recovered / Repurposed.  Both designers take the eco-friendly approach with collecting and repurposing discarded scraps of wood to create exotic pieces of furniture.  Each piece of furniture is unique in design and no two pieces will have the same woodgrain pattern.

Industrial strength elegantly at its best…

I came across this elegant Frieling coffee press at a hotel I was staying at for business a while back.  I feel in love with it’s simplistic design and sturdy feel.  The coffee press is made out of 18/10 stainless steel with a gorgeous mirror finish, and brushed finish inside.  The press includes a steel mesh plunger and comes in a few different sizes (even a personal 2cup for brunch party of 1).  If you are concerned with keeping your hot coffee scolding hot and your cold water perfectly cold, these presses & pitchers are also double-lined!  Frieling also offers a complete matching coffee set and many other unique kitchen essentials.

Simple, Efficient (and cool!) LED Lighting

Have you ever wondered how some people make it in life?

I do all the time.

I generally like the idea of the Darwin theory where survival of the fittest really works.

So one of our dear correspondent bloggers tried to help a friend and promote his cool product… (yes, that post WAS right here… ) —and the “friend” calls and was upset to find that his product was featured on this very blog.

One would think… “Wow! Free publicity… Great exposure… etc etc etc”.

But no.  Instead there is some fear of exposure or something (who knows...)

So here’s where I get confused - the same pictures and info are on *THEIR* own website.  Maybe it’s just me, but last time I checked, I’m pretty sure the internet reached from the USA to Europe ... and god forbid CHINA, where the product will surely be knocked off if they see it.  Oh wait, they can see it at Chameledeon.com

On that note, I will gladly remove the post/pictures and expect the Darwin theory will present itself with this particular company.

PC Made Modern!?

Think small.  Think expandable.  Think versatile.  Think green!  Think simple PC to fit your modern lifestyle!  Makers at Shuttle have come out with various desktop PC’s that would attract any modern enthusiast.  If space is an issue for your technology needs, these little ones pack a lot of robust features that you would find in any standard desktop tower computer.  The price of these mini desktops are also very appealing and pack more features compared to the Apple Mac Mini according to Shuttle.  The only downside one would see with this small design is adequate air circulation.  Most users these days tend to tuck their PC’s into cabinets, on the floor, etc.  But WHY would you not want to sport this sleek computer!?  No need to worry about hiding wires with these units either; just go wireless everything!  The only cables you should have to worry about are the power and monitor cables.  Their models range from the basic PC user to even the modern gamer!  See what Shuttle has to offer to fit your modern life.

George Nelson Zoo Timers

New Arrivals - originally designed in 1965 by George Nelson, the Zoo Timer can add a little whimsy to any room - we just got them in this morning and I’m already trying to decide which should hang in my office! I saw these last spring at the Vitra booth at ICFF and spent months trying to place an order—well this January in NYC ... SUCCESS… (well it is March now) .. but they have arrived so I’ll count that as a success. I hope you all enjoy them as much as I do. See the full collection here. Talulah the Toucan is pictured.

Chronare Canna Wall Clock

This is definitely taking the idea of “liquid” display to an extreme. The Canna wall clock is a series of glass tubes filled with over five gallons of colored water (naturally - you pick the color). The tubes fill and mark the passing of time in 10 minute increments...then at midnight the water drains away and the process starts over. You can watch your money drain away as you pay the $12,000 to get this addition to your living room

Design Tip - Avoid Tiki Statues

Found this one on Gizmodo this morning - just in case you were wondering how to fit this in as part of a contemporary home… stop wondering just follow the rule - TRULY TRAGIC TIKI’s should be avoided; particularly in the form of an aquarium. So sacrifice the $429 cost on something more interesting at DWR or other home furnishings locations.
