Breakable Wax “Chocolate Bar” Magnets

From design house MEGAWING, the Chocolate Sweets Magnet looks and breaks apart exactly like a chocolate bar (No word yet on the taste). Each of the 15 little pieces contain a strong magnet and can be broken individually or kept together however you want!

Still need a unique magnet board to use? Look no further than the Leaf and Branch Magnet Board from Nuop. Elegant and artful, it’s a beautiful alternative to the clunky boards we’ve all come to expect.

Pure Modern’s Last Minute Holiday Gift Guide

I’ve been combing through our inventory looking for the best deals, and most importantly, available products that can be shipped immediately from our warehouse in Denver. With 4 business days to go until Christmas, that gives most locations plenty of time to have their order delivered with Standard Rate UPS (that’s 3-5 business days). And of course we’re always able to help out the last minute shopper with 2-Day and Overnight options.

First, a couple of ideas for the tabletop. The elegant Dove Salt & Pepper Shakers by Torre & Tagus are always a great gift, no matter what time of year. For names that appear on Santa’s famous list, you can get the Angelo Salt or Diabolo Pepper Shaker depending on their classification.

To light up any outdoor porch, patio or meeting area, try the Soji Modern Lantern by Allsop Garden. Finally a stylish modern look combined with the convenience and efficiency of a solar powered lamp.

For the moneymaker in your life, we have several J.Fold and DB Clay wallet styles in stock. Featured below, two of J.Fold’s thin wallet designs, the ultimate necessity for a night out. No more fumbling with that oversized billfold or trifold.

Finally, the perennial favorite Inspiration Tube Vase by Torre & Tagus. It’s simply the sleekest Zen garden-tube vase combination around. And, like all of the products features today, available for immediate shipment in time for the holiday!

NEW! Blomus Outdoor Ventless Fireplaces

It’s not everyday Blomus unveils a new addition to their exquisite line of clean-burning ventless fireplaces. The new Chimo Outdoor Fireplace is similar in design to their fall 2009 additions but created with outdoor use specifically in mind. They don’t provide any heat, so their contribution is purely superficial (like all the best things in the world). See our complete collection here.

From The HeART

Art...what is it? Is it a splash of color on a canvas, a still photograph of inanimate objects, or a line drawn on a piece of paper? You be the judge.  Upon my visit to sunny Miami, I was blind to the art this city had to offer.  PJ introduced me to this one unique artist that embraces pop culture in a funky and cool kind of way.  Miami based artist, Romero Britto (seen in PJ’s earlier post), creates vibrant and bold art that is definitely an eye catcher in any-one’s collection.  Upon my departure from MIA I couldn’t resist passing up the Britto gift store to browse and smile at all of his fun and unique creations.  Following the tastes of my mentor PJ, I just had to add a fun piece to my decor.  This piece, “From The Heart”, about wraps up my visit to beautiful Miami - equivalent to the joy music brings in my life.  Here’s to walking in your artful taste, PJ!  Just call me Felipe =)

The Palms, a Miami gem

During my retreat to Miami, this is the first time I have ever stayed in such a fabulous hotel.  My gelatinous body (post massage) was at the mercy of what The Palms Hotel & Spa had to offer.  The amenities from an Aveda Spa, hammocks between palm trees, courteous hotel staff, and private beach access (let’s not forget the stiff mojitos and piƱa coladas to boot) put me in a trance like mood I can never forget.  It’s the first time I have ever been so relaxed at a hotel stay (even the beds were difficult to part with) - PJ will agree with me on this.  Nothing matters during your stay at The Palms; it is truly a vacation in itself.  Reflecting thoughts of laying in a hammock, staring into the dark night as you hear the tropical nature takes you into peaceful euphoria.  I highly recommend anyone giving this hotel a try on their next visit - you may never want to leave!

Snowbirding

Since Chicago’s weather was unreasonably bitter in the early stages of single digit temps, I decided to migrate south in search of warmth and good company.  I had the wonderful honor of joining PJ (missed ya Mick!!) in Miami to witness the beginnings of an exciting design transformation of a new Miami based living space. Having worked a few renovation projects of my own with the client of my current job, I am always elated to see the finished product from before to after.  This will be another PM exclusive I am anxious to see, the result of intelligent and functional modern design.  Stay tuned as they unveil this latest unique project! (PJ: reminder # 239)

The Art Basel Addiction

Every time I come to Miami Beach - I stop in the Romero Britto gallery and stare at things I want.  Usually, I walk out with something small to remind me how much I appreciate the Britto creations.  This time, I splurged a bit… and acquired a signed & numbered sculpture called “Blue Dog”, one of my favorite Britto pieces.  If you’re not familiar with Romero Britto, check out the full website HERE - and flip through the amazing things he’s done.  Below my relatively inexpensive sculpture is the $30,000, glitter adorned, Coca Cola work displayed in the gallery window during Art Basel.  (drool)
