Recently in Austin, TX - the annual Barkitecture silent auction generated some of the best designs yet.  For those who aren’t familiar with the event, it’s an awesome silent auction where local architects build and contribute one of a kind dog houses—auction them, and the proceeds all go to animal shelters.  Some of my favorites from this year (in which we bid on --- and lost repeatedly!) are below:

A couple of very interesting pieces from Dutch designer Richard Hutten. Pictured first is the 3 Minus 1 Table, which gives a new take on traditional office desk drawer placement. The second is a simple table for children, but I’m not sure any kids would be able to fully appreciate either of these. They get all the best toys as it is. (via)
